Illustration inspired from Sadako Sasaki’s story, a girl that after 9 years of the World War II, was diagnosed with leukemia. Her best friend reminded her of the tale about a man that made 1000 paper cranes and the Gods granted him a wish. She started making the paper cranes but the sickness gradually made her weak enough to not be able to finish her task. The day she died she only was able to finish 644 paper cranes…
